Becoming an American.

Hey everyone we just wanted to update you all on the latest with Gavin. We started out the week with a phone conference on Monday to an adoption medical specialist. She was very positive about Gavin's health and minor special needs, that are very much correctable in our area. She believes he is most likely being well taken care of and looks to be about the average size of an American two or three year old. Then Gary and I officially signed the acceptance papers before our notary at 6:00 on Wednesday evening, saying we want this little guy to join our busy, crazy clan. We also got word from our agency that our paperwork has now been translated to Chinese and we should have our acceptance from Immigration very soon (after a mess up on my part with the first set of papers we sent-oops!). It just amazes me to think there is a little boy in China that has no idea that his new mom and dad are making such a fuss over him and that it's his picture on our fridge next to his brothers racing schedule and his sisters drawings. As we get ready to do the 4th of July thing with my extended family today I pray for my son in China and that next year he will be joining us as an American to celebrate. I hope everyone has a great 4th and that we all recognize how blessed we truly are to live in the U.S.A. and the people who gave us this right.---Marla
