China is getting to know us.

Where does a happy mom begin? The kids and I are having such a great summer that I'm starting the August dread a little early this year. I go through this every year in August when the kids need to start getting ready for school. I just love having them home, hanging out together. We have had so much fun playing in our pool and having ice cream for dinner, I am not ready to give up our lazy days routine just yet. It has been a few years since we have had weather like this in the Northwest so we need to soak it up when we can. We do have two vacations on the calendar for August so I guess I can ignore the fact that school is starting in a month just a little longer.
As far as the adoption goes, I did find out this past week that our pre-approval (small amount of paperwork) is being reviewed in China and we should hear back on that soon. I'm just so happy that our file is on a desk somewhere in China and a person is in the process of looking at it. We are still trying to get our dossier (mountain of paperwork for China) out of the U.S. and I keep getting told this will be happening soon. I hope so, I would really like to have our log-in-date with the CCAA. Things are still moving and I need the be happy with the steps that are being made even little ones.
I do pray that everyone has ways to fight off the heat and is having fun with family and friends on patios and in pools this summer. Blessings to you,---Marla

Okay, call me a dork, but I just figured out who the "Gavin's Family" were on my blog... duh!!! I have also lost/spent an hour of precious alone time (the three kiddos make it precious!) catching up on your blog, start to finish. What an inspiration and exciting journey... I can't wait to watch the ending unfold, happily ever after! And Gavin's around 2 1/2 now, right? Wayne is 3 1/2 and Weston is 1 1/2, so he'll be sandwiched in between the Silves boys at church!

Hey there, I'm beginning to understand the August dread thing this year with Tristan going into Kindergarten. We inherited a pool from Chad's boss (too shallow for his kids now) and we've been loving it!!! I hope you have fun on your vacations, and that the paperwork moves along quickly when you're not looking! Happy August!!!
