Our boy turns three!

Our little guy turns three on Oct. 19th and with China almost a day ahead of us we celebrated today. We figured for this one we would work on China time. This also worked best with Gary and the kids busy schedules on Monday.

What started out with just Gary, myself, and the kids ended up being Gary's side of the family (16 people). We received a phone call yesterday that Gary's dad was here from out of town and they wanted to get together. We told them we had plans to celebrate Gavin's birthday and it ended up the whole side of the family joined us.

We had Chinese food for lunch and cake with ice cream. We sang "Happy Birthday" into the video camera and the kids blew out the candles on the cake. It was a great party!

I think this was God's way of making a little cake into quite the celebration for our son. It felt so good to have Gary's family around us today singing into a camera for a little boy we only have a picture of. God knew I needed that today. He is so good to me even in the little details like something as simple as orchestrating a birthday party. This was one thing I had not even thought of asking Him for.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Gavin, Happy Birthday to you! I love you so much and hope your day was a good one---Love Mommy

Oh Marla! How funny!

I always wondered when I'd stumble across someone I actually knew in real life. Too funny that it finally happened!

So fun to find each other like this. How amazing that you are adopting. It seems that so many people are doing that these days and getting really blessed in the process.

We'll have to stay in touch now that we're in cyber space together.

Blessings,
Sasha

(PS glad you guys are feeling better too! I think we're hitting the downside.)
