Moving along

I don't have huge news to share, but on this journey even the little steps are just as worth mentioning as they too get us closer to Gavin.
I just received an e-mail yesterday that all five of our pass ports and visa applications made there way to Washington D.C. and are now being processed with the Chinese Embassy. One small step for the adoption, one big step toward China! Don't you like that I'm quoting a famous moon statement.
We also heard from our agency earlier this week that all the necessary paperwork is back in China. We should hear in a week or two from the U.S. Embassy on our Article 5. This is the last approval we need before getting permission to travel, which will also take a few weeks to get.
I don't usually do this, but today I am asking of you all for two things.
First, prayer for Gavin, that he is being prepared for our coming in a loving way by his foster parents.
Second, I need your prayers. The last two weeks have been extra hard with nothing more then tired of waiting. I need God's strength to get through the next few weeks.

Ulgh. I hate waiting. I can't imagine the torment of the seconds ticking by!!! Reading your post brought the words, "Be still and know that I am God." to mind. I will be praying for you Marla.

Oh my dear friend,
You are in my prayers!!!

My heart breaks for you since I so know how you feel with the 'waiting' thing! It can be so tiring!!!
But know that...

You will be traveling soon!

You will be holding Gavin in your arms soon!

You all will be lovin' on this little guy so very soon!!!

And yes, I will be praying for Gavin! I will be praying that God prepares his heart for all of you...I will be praying that Gavin is so well-loved that he will be able to then love all of you...I will be praying that his first meeting with you goes well...that he can feel free to grieve his little heart out and then get to the business of knowing you and accepting you and loving you! I pray that his little personality shines through and that you all are entranced by him (which, I know that you probably already are).

Hang tight Marla...
You are almost there!!!
