Today the answer would be NO!
I have not heard a word from my agency in a few weeks mostly due to the fact that the person I go to had to make an emergency trip to Taiwan for just over two weeks. Before she left she assured me that the Chinese New Year would not slow any of our stuff down. She also said that we will have a window in March to travel because there is a major trade convention in April near one of the cities we have to be in and the agency will not allow us to travel at the same time as the trade show craziness.
Today I got a phone call from the person taking care of things while "my person" is out. She said she just got word that our paperwork is moving, just slower then we thought and EVERYONE in China is getting ready for the holiday that will have our stuff come to a stop for about two weeks. Then it will move on to the next stop for about four weeks and we can expect to travel three weeks after that. That's the MIDDLE of April. So now with the trade convention in Guangzhou we are looking at May. Can you believe we were first told Fall of 2009.

May~ ...Wouldn't that be the best birthday gift ever!!!
Marla,
I'm so sorry. May sure is a lot further out than March! And at this point even nine more days (until we meet Darcy)is making me insane! I'll be praying that things come through really fast and that you do indeed make it in March. Our God is MUCH BIGGER than governments...
I know it's frustrating isn't it? Maybe you will make March, even so May is a great month to travel. Not too hot yet!
Marla, hang in there...you just don't know what He has in store for you guys...you never know...there might just be a perfectly good reason for all the waiting. I will pray for patience, understanding, and miracles. Hope other than this "set back" all is going well for you. :)
